In praise of the minivan, the vehicle that rose in the 90s and then died, died, died

@clive I'm planning to get a car once I pass my driving test. Have to buy used so no shiny new 2025 V.W. Bus for me.
Can't decide between a Honda Fit (kinda van like) or a Honda Civic (not at all van like).
I had a used 2010 Elantra for about 10 years, it was actually a pretty good car! Great mileage, very spacious trunk
@clive I 100% agree that minivans are way better than SUVs functionally. When traveling I always get a minivan over an SUV.
I think the VW microbus was given short shrift in that article, given it’s the only electric minivan even rumored here.
But holy shit, how can you write about modern minivans and not mention the insanity that is executive minivans in china?

I don’t know what this is, but I know it is a very different timeline than ours!
Oh my goodness, aviation cabin seats!!
Thank you for telling me about the trend, I had no idea
yeah, minivans rock. I always thought their slogan should be “when you need to get shit done“
@clive right? Practicality is an end unto itself.
And yeah. I was trying to find an electric minivan and accidentally discovered this whole different culture of minivans as executive vehicles. But very *aggressive* ones. Every time I see them I write weird cyberpunk stories in my head.
